Met this guy Jess, he drove his Audi 2000 miles from WA to Socal. Maybe not such a big deal to most people, you might say whooptie doo its a road trip. Well i guess you have not seen his Audi then. Just shy of 400awhp slammed tucked poked and stretched. this is by far my fav Audi at the moment.

Color choice on par, wheel choice is great these Fikse wheels look amazing on this car. Specs haha not today buddy.

Its been a long time since ive seen a car built with such quality, from every aspect this car is complete. I wish that I would have taken some pictures of the interior so you could see the entire car. Brown leather and only the best accents thrughout the interior.

Also wanted to Congradulate him one winning best of show at the 09 Dubfest held at Irwindale speedway.

Keep the builds coming everyone, and Thoseguyss will keep the features coming.

Sorry we haven’t been updating folks, we’ve been too busy racing our street scooters and terrorizing the streets.

anyway, yesterday, ThoseGuyss got together to have our weekly sunday ride/smash fest and it was a ton of fun. Earlier in the day, MasterBruce and I did some work on my bike and rode around trying to find some pretty ladies to impress with our motorcycle helmets.

Later on, we met up with Nick and Paris, of the RiskyTribe to do some riding. We hit up the arcade in walnut where we set some speed records. Here’s a shot of Paris, look how Serious he is about racing.

Vacation Part 2 with Pics

Well it all started off with a trip to the beach, and whats a trip to the beach without bikinis?

Then of corse in true Those Guys fashion we drank!

Cruised around down town to see all the nothing that was going on.

After all these wild events that took place in the SLOest place on earth, it was time for a nap, and to pack for the long trip home.

So we loaded up the car and hit the road, while Paris followed in his GTI.

We made it home, greeted by some friends, and shared some steak fries from out local hang out(Guppies).

Lastnight was....ya, just about like that. Today was a really hard day for those guys. I myself got sent home from work, w33dz and goldmember helped move, and Joe...was well, at work feeling great. After the long day, goldmember, joe, w33dz, and myself took off to thai basil for some recovery food. Hopfully tomorrow will be a better day, with less pain in the dome. Those guys get down with the get down.

So, everyone has a bad day, shit I had the really bad day today now that I think about it. But no matter how bad the day, you can never have a bad day when your with those guys. And tonight mostly everyone came out the local taco Tuesday spot, to get some $1.00 taco's and $4.00 32oz beer. Few beers in, Julz and goldmember decided to have a 32oz "race" at the table. Julz of course won ( nothing new here). But everyone is a winner here tonight. This is a pic of some of the fun happening down here. Those guys drink to win, and shoot to kill. Nick and I are officially Honda Ruckus owners as of today. Nick picked up our scoots and we spent about an hour riding around in his neighborhood. Before I called it a night, I already accumulated 10 miles on the Ruck.

Please pardon the mess, we’re renovating.

These things are a blast to ride! Nick and I did some top speed runs, and clocked it at about 35 miles per hour. I predict we’ll be able to go faster once the motors are broken in. Anyway, im off to bed, I’ll be getting my permit tomorrow morning and hopefully a helmet so i can ride the scoot legally on the streets

Saturday night, Nick spent the night over my house so we could scoot on over to Marina Del Ray to meet up with some of my friends for an offroading adventure.

I know, you’re thinking, “wtf, ThoseGuys, offroading? Their cars are surely too low to do any of that wild rucking about.”

Well you're wrong, allow me to elaborate.

For a couple of years now, i’ve been building these 1/10th scale rock crawlers. To date, this is my latest, and best performing rig.

these were all the rigs that showed up. I drove the orange ram charger, and Nick drove the blue fj cruiser. Toward the end of the day, we swapped rigs, and Nick did amazingly with the ramcharger. He’s a natural.

This is my good friend, Boost’s custom Jeep Comanche. I first met Boost at a crawl get together in Santa Clarita. He’s got great humor and always makes my crawl sessions the best. You can always catch he and I zoomin’ about on some rocks trying to make for some exciting crashes.

Just check out his rear fitment, a little bit of poke and a little bit of stretch. Amazing.

I can even forgive that gaudy magnaflow exhaust system.

Anyway, after that, Nick and I ran some errands, met up with Brucey, and had a nice evening. It was really nice to get ThePride together and just chill and relax. I couldn’t have asked for a better Sunday. Video will be up shortly from the crawl session, and I’ll be sure to post it asap.

Big SocalEuro

A couple of weeks ago, I went down to San Diego with my good buddy Tim to attend the Big SocalEuro meet. It was a very romantic 2 hour drive along with coast, with which Tim and I swapped stories and jokes.

Upon getting to the meet, Tim and I walked around for a bit, met up with some fellow associates, and snapped a few pictures. Here’s the few cars that caught my eye.

this bus was done very tastefully in my opinion. The double racks, and wide open glassware made it feel like it was ready to hit the beach for a bbq.

One of ThoseGuys, Geoff, was there. He was actually an instructor for the car control clinic, and ended up drifting some pretty expensive cars. If you look closely at his rear tire, you’ll see that his nitto R compound is down to the cord. Yeah, thoseguys are pretty wild.

The only other time I’ve ever seen an e30 touring, was when i was in europe. That’s tim in the background, wondering to himself, “Why didn’t stacy get a hatchback like this?”

Out of the hundreds of cars in attendance, this is the only car i bothered to take more than one picture of. Everything about this car really appealed to me. The subtle aero in conjunction with the foglights allow you to take a second look, almost wondering if it came like that from the factory. The smooth blacked out euro trim and badgless grill flow and contrast with the silver and black theme. Another thing to note, the hood usually has a cutout for the VW badge, but on this car it was smoothed out to give it an OEM look. Lastly, the rim choice. The front is nicely flush, and the rear pokes just enough with a nice amount of stretch. In my opinion, this is car was built very tastefully. Kudos to you my friend, kudos to you.

After the meet, I asked my buddies, Ommar and Allen to take me to a local food spot. I told them flat out, “i have mcdonalds and applebees at home, i want something san diego can offer me.”

Ommar offered up this burrito joint called Pokez.

This place is absolutely amazing! They offer all kinds of choices, from carne asada burritos to completely vegan friendly burritos. Pronounced, poke-eeeez, it’s got a pretty colorful history.

This place was decorated with local art from wall to wall. It felt rich with creativity and artistry.

Even the outside screamed, “bohemia”

This was my meal, i had a vegan chorizo burrito on a wheat tortilla. The sauce was so full of flavor, im sure they sprinkled it with cocaine or something, as i was feening for a second burrito immediately after devouring this one.

Ommar and I did an impromptu photoshoot by the beach. Too bad there was a million people there, we couldn’t shoot by the water

I’d like to take a minute to introduce the newest addition to the ThoseGuys’ stable of vehicles, NickRisk’s Corolla wagon.

If you haven’t been keeping up with the blog, and you’re retarded for not doing so, Nick Risk also drives a dumped white miata, and is fastly becoming famous for building one of the wildest sets of bbs rs’ know to mankind.

Nick’s Corolla truly is one of a kind. He fondly refers to it, as his grocery getting station wagon, we beg to differ.

At the current moment, and it will soon change, Nick is rolling on 15x8 sportmax 002’s painted in black to give it a more aggressive look, and dumped on custom suspension to give it a nice height and aggressive handling characteristics.

As far as exterior aesthetics go, it has been kept relatively simple to keep the overall soccer mom feel. The headlights are projector retrofits, with hid’s, and jdm style yellow foglights.

ThoseGuys, not only do they blind fools with their flossiness, but with their hid’s too

Even though Nick is rolling on sportmax, if you do it right, you can floss as hard as you want. In true fashion however, Nick will step his game up to more aggressive wheels.

Now at this point in time, you’re probably asking yourself, “JoeTokyo, why are you talking so much and posting so many pictures about some corolla wagon my filipina immigrant aunt drove 20 years ago?”

Well, this isn’t your Tita Baby’s* corolla wagon. Under the hood of this pearl of the province*, lies a potent little motor. A fully rebuilt toyota 4age blue top has been swapped in favor of the two hamsters under the hood of this big booty banana.

The interior however, has been swapped out for something a little more sporty. Up front you’ll see custom gauges wrapped around a sheet of carbon fiber, legit old school nardi wood steering wheel which you’d find on your Tito Boy’s mango* back home in the philippines, and some bucket seats to keep your fat ass in place during those wild drifts when attacking kumakubo at ebisu. Oh yeah, it’s a 5 speed as well.

Despite having manual windows and solex locks, this drift machine has a cage bolted in the rear for added stiffness. I’ve never seen a two seater station wagon, have you? I guess this car wasn’t a good choice for the brady bunch.

anyway, i had to sneak in a few shots of the Danger Wagon, as she’s been a bit neglected lately. She’s like a funny Tweet, everybody needs to know about it.

if you were wondering, that’s about ride height right there, the front bumper looks miles from the floor due to the uneven flooring. Anyway, this picture is dedicated to all the airbag haters, just because i’m on bags doesn’t mean i don’t know how to roll. Drive low, Park lower.

btw, you may have noticed a few asterisks next to some key phrases in this post. I took the creative liberty to add some Filipino slang and phrases into the mix. If you are not familiar with my mother tongue, allow me to elaborate:

Tita Baby – Tita means aunt, and Baby is a common nickname. Almost every filipino you know, will have at the very minimum of three Tita Baby’s

Pearl of the Province – In the Philippines, the Provinces are known as the areas with the lower cost of living. Ghetto’s if you will. A pearl of the province is usually a very beautiful girl who grew up in the harsh conditions. My mother is a pearl of the province, nuff said.

Tito Boy – Tito means uncle, and Boy is a common nickname. Almost every filipino you know, will have at the very minimum of three Tito Boy’s. In addendum to that, it’s old folklore that the name Boy was originally given to a filipino, by the american soldiers during ww2.

Mango – Filipinos have a long standing tradition of loving older japanese vehicles, usually pre-80’s. A mango is a te72 corolla, given that nickname for it’s mango shaped body. On top of that, Filipino Mangos are DELICIOUS!

With that, I have given enough instruction for you to successfully survive in the heart of the Philippines.

Anyway, I’m sitting at Walnut Hand Car Wash, taking advantage of their free wifi and my netbook, enjoying my Friday morning before work. If you’re ever in town, I highly suggest coming here as they do amazing work. A basic wash is 14.95, but you sure get what you pay for. They vacuum the interior, a full wash, clean the windows from the inside, clean the door jambs and they make your vehicle look extra flossy.

As you know 2 of thoseguyss have been in Vegas since Monday, not only was it alot of fun but I was probly the most fun I've had in a long time with the old friends. While we were their we did a few things thoseguyss wouldn't normally do. For one we went to a club called XS and their we spoiled ourselfs with a $2000 bottle service. After a few drinks it was time to shake a leg, in true thoseguyss fashion I located the only Asian girl in the whole club and decided for her that she was dancing with me and she was gonna have a good time. Well after a few song I was sort of feel like I just stepped out of the pool cuz it had to be atleast 850deg and my pores opened up and drained my body of all fluids. After staying at the club till 4am we decided it was time to head back and hit the sack. When we woke up, all of us were hungry as bears and stumbled upon a small place called Ellis Island. At Ellis Island we found $2 pizza slices and $1.50 beers, I recomend the house brewed stout it's full flavored with a good amount of alcohol content. Later we ended up buying a deck of cards some beer, captain & coke, vodka, and various other mixers. Then wondered back to Ellis Island where we gambled until 6am then stubled back stopping at McDonalds on the way for some breakfast burritos. Then went to bed knowing I needed to wake up in just a few hours, to watch the USA-Espania match I knocked out as fast as I could. Woke up to see 30mins on the clock already, but USA was up 1-0 was exciting end score was 2-0 USA knocking out the 1st place ranked Espania. We all took showers changed into our stay cool in the heat clothes and went to the Grand Lux to get somthing to eat, I ordered the BBQ chicken pizza with a salad and coffee. At about 4 we grabbed some beers from the rooms and went to go catch some rays next to the pool. We had tickets for KA so we once again all took showers got ready and went out to grab food at the seafood buffet inside the Rio hotel (which sucks ten million Dicks!!!!). Then we had to get to the MGM grand to see the show. Our seats were perfect show was spectacular, I was on the edge of my seat the entire time yelling and clapping. Then after that we went to the hotel and grabbed some sleep since we had to be out of the hotel by 11.

So Nick and I are on the way to Vegas right now for 4 days. So far it's been really crazy. I took a shot at 9 and one at 10:30 then proceed to throw it
all back up. Anyways, just got this new app on my phone and wanted to try it out, seems to be working great. I'll let everyone know how the trip is going during the rest of the week, but for now here are some pics.

Btw joe, both nick and I love you, and can't wait to get back into town and have another "ba-noodles-bay" outing. Keep on pushing everyone, cause those guys....care.

So last night, I was reminded of how much I appreciate my dad, so I was really glad to have spent the day with him and some of my other family. My cousins, aunt and nephews all came over, and we had a Father’s day BBQ.

Anyway, here are some shots I snapped from the day.

As you can tell, dastardly good looks run in the family, I mean come on, he’s got my eyebrows and already has a killer look to slay the ladies.

Life is going to suck starting Saturday. Dai's Drift Academy at El Toro Air Force Base is this Saturday and I'm not gonna be able to take pictures or hang out with my friends. Instead, I'll be at work. Then Monday I leave for Vegas for my brother's bachelor party. And I know that to some of you that might sound really cool, but it's not. I'll be there for four days, spending way too much money on unnecessary things. The only good coming from this is I'll be away from my controlling girlfriend and I'll be able to spend time with my boy... finally. So, I guess it's not all for nothing.

So ThoseGuyss all met up tonight, and had a nice little impromptu shoot over at Cal State Fullerton. It was a good time to meet up and to put MrRisk’s camera through various tests. Here’s what we came out with:

Geoff’s 17” forgelines with nitto R compounds. He pretty much schooled a bunch o’ fools at california speedway this past weekend. You may remember Geoff’s TechnoViolence m3 from a previous shoot we did, well he got a set of the same wheels, except in 17 inch for track use. Pretty damn baller if you ask me.

Here’s your boy JoeTokyo and Val sitting in the back of my wagon. Sorry if I look all bummy and whatnot, I came straight from work and seriously, I work with a bunch of dudes, it’s not like i wanna look all cute for them. Anyway, check out that netbook in my lap, I was attempting to latch onto CSUF’s wifi signal, but it was too weak from the garage. Val and I ended up walking to the campus and she got to check her email from there. Pretty neat!

MrRisk took this amazing shot of Julz’s KenStyle wagon. Julian’s license plate says, “WOWZ3RS”. I freakin love that plate, it makes me so happy just to read it. Anyway, his setup is pretty simple, but it’s aggressive, it’s not over the top, but just right.

Sooooo, how long has ThoseGuyss been, ThoseGuyss? That is a good question. Truthfully, I’ve known both Nick and Bruce since 2006. Nick and Bruce were both part of a car club based in Orange County called Team Element. At the time, Nick had a Bentley Green GTI and Bruce had an Imola Orange S2000. Shortly thereafter, they both were invited to join Team Supastar, who of which I was an active member.

In all honesty, when I first met Nick, I didn’t like him. I thought he was a cocky poseur who had no sense of style or taste. You know what they can say, first appearances can be deceiving. Let me take a moment to say, i regret my initial thoughts of Nick, as he has become one of my closest if not, my closest friend.

I mean seriously, if you met this guy looking like this, wouldn’t you think the same?

I’ve got some exciting news, I’ve successfully installed Lightroom on my computer, and Ive just edited my first photo with it.

this shot was taken in 2007, when i took my mother and brother to Disneyland during the holiday season. Gosh, look at that young, clean-shavened JoeTokyo.

anyway, I’m off to install photoshop now, as lightroom is still a bit scary to me, and i will also be installing counterstrike.

Well, it seems like ThoseGuyss are getting more and more technologically savy. Our very own blog creator, and the original that guy, has picked up a new camera that is amazing. It is the Canon Rebel t1i. It has a 15mp sensor, hd video, and a plethora of other features that I’m sure you don’t want me boring you with. What I’m most excited about, is the fact that it is fully compatible with all eos lenses with which the 3 of ThoseGuyss have quite a few of.

On top of that, your boy, TheArtistFormerlyKnownAsJoeTokyo, just picked up a new addition as well. Lately I’ve been feeling that my creativity as an artist was being stifled by the mundaneness of every day life, and that I needed a release of some sort to help me cope with the stresses that I am faced with on a daily basis. As I came to this realization, I knew that I wanted to start writing again, and give myself a feeling of adventure and a reason to appreciate everything in my life, big or small. To help aid in my quest for cathartic release, I purchased a, “netbook”. Now you’re probably asking, just like I did, “what is a netbook?” The short and long of it is, a netbook is a small notebook computer. How small you ask? Well its pretty darned tiny. The screen tops out at 8.9 inches and is probably just a little bit bigger than a couple of paperback novels lined up back to back.

It is the Asus Eee pc 900ha. It’s actually really neat, and a steal at just under $300 with a 2gig memory upgrade. If you’re really interested in it, check it out on amazon, as their price, and reviews were pretty much the deciding factor for me to make this purchase. In truth, I am actually blogging right now with my new computer. Sure the keyboard is tiny, and I find myself fat-fingering here and there when I type at an accelerated pace, but I’m sure with a little more keystrokes under my belt, I’ll find myself writing novels and screenplays at your local coffee house with no delay.

So besides being a neat little netbook, a neatbook if you will, one of the coolest features that really appealed to me, was the fact that it comes with a built in SD card reader. If you were not aware, my little d5000 point and shoot camera, aka the canon sd790is, uses an SD card, which means if I find something interesting in my outdoor adventures, I can snap a shot quickly and blog about it within a moments notice. Another appealing feature, is that this computer can run both Lightroom and Photoshop, my 6 year old laptop runs photoshop, but throws a hissy fit if I even look at the lightroom website.

Alas, Nick is borrowing my sd card, since his new camera uses sd cards, so I have no fun pictures of my birthday adventures or exciting little toys, but I will attach this picture i just took with the handy little built in webcam.

My thoughts at this time are a little unorganized and jumbled, we had a fantastic night of karaoke and beer, and its 3am, I must be lonely…

Stepping into the HYPE!

So I found myself buying my 2nd set of BBS RS. There's 2 reasons why I bought these, 1 I never put my 1st set on a car which made me kinda irritated. 2 Who doesn't love a set of BBS wheels on a miata.

The wheels are 16x7 +11 all around. They will fit great on the car cannot wait to re drill and mount them up.

So for a month, i've been rolling like this. To tell you the truth, it's been quite embarrassing.

But i've been patiently waiting on these bad boys.

Yup, i stretched a 205/40 on a 9.5" inch wide wheel.

They were originally 16x7.5 and 8.5 +14 all around. With the help and support of GoldMember and MrRisk, I had them redone and widened to 16x8+14 and 16x9.5+18. I also had the faces powder coated in a dark purple. You'll notice in the pics, they always look blue, but in fact, they are a dark purple. For some reason, these wheels always photograph blue, but look purple in real life.

This picture is a better representation of the color.

Here's the fitment on the wagon. Don't worry, i plan on installing -3 camber on the rear, and removing the 10mm spacer i have on there for that uber flush look.
There it is folks, expect a better shoot once i get the camber installed.

I for one, love Thursdays as well. Oft times, you can catch me saying, "I hate, not-Thursdays." If you didn't know, Thursday is Karaoke night over at TJ's Locker Room in Orange County. Master Bruce posted up some pictures he took from a previous Karaoke Night, so I thought I'd do the same and post up some shots I have from my little camera.

This is a continuation of the previous teaser post I put up last week.

This Techno Violence M3 sedan belongs to my good friend Geoffrey Tunang. Geoff and I first became e-buddies through an e30 enthusiast forum some years ago. Fast forward a few years, we became real friends after he had long since gotten rid of his e30.

I first met Geoff when I met up with my friend JonPham in the OC to do some "ILLEGAL STREET DREEEEEFTING!" seriously, it was a fun night. At the time, Geoff drove a red e36 325i coupe if i'm not mistaken. It was dumped on some kosei k1's and had an open diff. We drove all around to random parking lots and slid around for a while before moving on to another. The last lot we went to, we drifted for about 5 minutes before a couple of guys came out of an adjacent building and asked what we were doing. I replied, "oh, just some drifting, care to watch?" to which they replied, "uhh well, we go to church here, so we'd appreciate it if you didn't do that here."
Anyway, Geoff's come a long way from then, and he's seriously a talented driver. He's recently become an instructor for the BMWCCA and did amazingly well at the el toro drift event reccently attended by our very own MasterBruce.
Geoff's setup is pretty legit. I won't get all technical, but if you want to know, you can check it out at his blog, PerfectFitment. He's lowered on Ground Control coilovers with a pretty stiff spring setup and some 18" forgelines in a width and offset to make your children weep with fury.
Geoff's a funny kid, I'm pretty grateful to be able to call him my friend, and happy that I was able to feature him on this blog.
but seriously, with a stance and fitment geometric equation like that, you'd be dumb not to jock that steeze.

El Toro, my first event.

This was my first drift event. I was so nervous I could barely sleep the night before. Anyways, all week I prepped the car to get it ready for the event. Change oil, installed a turn knob, took off the front bumper, took off the rear caps, and loaded up the truck.

This is how the car looked the night before.

I finally think I fell asleep at about 3:00, and woke up at 6:45 to get ready to leave. Geoff was outside right at 7:00 (time we all said we would meet up) with breakfast, it was amazing because I wasn't planning on eating anything. We took off at about 7:15, and got to the event by 7:45, just in time for teck at 8:00.

We finish with teck at about 9:00, so we spent the rest of the time swapping out tires and getting ready to start drifting. 10:00 was there before you knew it, and all beginners had to go do circles around a cone for Dia to watch, once you passed you where able to go to the 2nd gear course.

My first try at it, took me 3 try's to finally get it down.

After I finally passed, I spent the rest of the day on the 2nd gear track, and I must say it was AMAZING. It has to be the coolest thing I have ever done in a car. But the part that topped it off was Quoc rode along with me for my last few runs, and helped me out a TON. I cant wait for my next event, talk to you all soon.

Hello Everyone,

Thank you for coming and checking out our blog. Its been a long few weeks, and I am finally getting to my intro. My name is Bruce, and I drive a 1993 Mazda RX-7. I have Wed Cerberus 2, that are 19x10 and 19x12.

As you can tell, I am running -3 camber in the front, and -4.5 in the rear. I am on a set of old rebuilt Kei Office coilovers with 12k Kei office springs in the front, and 18k Swift springs in the rear.

Thats just about it for me, wait for my full photoshoot/story to come out if you more info. We will be starting to post more and more now, so everyone hang tight, and keep checking back to see whats new. Thanks everyone!

As a contributing editor, I'd like to take a minute just sit right there, tell you how I became the prince of a town called bel-air.

Just messing, this is my car, as MrRisk pointed out earlier.

that was an older picture, but one of my favorites. Those wheels are 15x7.5 +13 ssr vienna dish which i rocked for about a year. I then changed it up and slapped on these bad boys.

These are 17x7.5 +30 ssr vienna kreis. I recently sold them, and have new wheels en route, so stay tuned for that feature!

This car is a small work in progress that I have going. I payed a WHOPPING $250 for this car clean title and ran great. I figured I might as well pick this up and start a new project since the price was on par.
